One of the best spots in Maine to get good lobster rolls is at Young’s Lobster Pound, overlooking the Penobscot Bay. Young’s Lobster Pound offers plenty of indoor seating on the upper floor, as well as outdoor deck seating. They serve lunch and dinner and even allow you to bring your own wine or beer.
Family owned, this spot has been in the family for three generations. Come for the lobster rolls, or pick out a lobster and watch them boil it right on the spot for you. Selection is vast, since they have a 30,000 lb. capacity lobster aquarium to choose from. Once selected, they throw it in the boiler, using just straight salt water, straight from the ocean. Can’t get more simple or straightforward than that.
At Young’s Lobster Pound, you can choose to eat in, or take out from their shop. Stop in, treat yourself to the freshest seafood in town while enjoying some of the best views. For those that can’t make it to Belfast, Maine, Young’s Lobster Pound can also ship fresh Maine Lobster directly to your front door. In addition to lobsters, they also have a selection of shellfish, and picked meats for those who don’t want to bother de-shelling themselves, so you can make your own lobster rolls at home.

*probably one of the priciest lobster rolls we’ve ever had at a no frills type place. However, it made up for it with a very generous (and super fresh, perfectly cooked, not rubbery) portion of lobster!

Beautiful deck with plenty of benches and tables. Fantastic view to sit back and soak up the sun and enjoy a fresh lobster roll in Belfast, Maine.

Their menu offers eat in, or even take out to go. Full dishes are available, or you can purchase to take home and prepare your own.
