Ci Siamo is yet another Italian spot from restaurateur Danny Meyer, with Chef Hillary Sterling at the helm. In Italian, it means “here we are” or “we’ve finally arrived”. As in, yes, we’ve finally made it through the week, or depending on when you read this… maybe just the day!
Nevertheless, you made it, and perhaps that in itself deserves a drink. That could totally explain why this second floor restaurant has glasses laid out, with an open self-serve bottle welcoming you in the elevator, as you ride up from the ground floor to the dining level. So here’s my tip, do NOT take the stairs. This is one of those times you should just wait for and take the elevator.
Once you make it through your first elevator drink, the must try dishes are the Gnocco Fritto and the Caramelized Onion Torta. Neither of these two dishes are good examples of what Ci Siamo is centered around, which is live-fire cooking, but they were the most standout and memorable, and the reason I would go back.
