BITE WORTHY | REVIEW | NEW YORK
If you ever need to get out of the city and enjoy some nature and fall foliage, then a day trip to Art Cafe in Nyack is the perfect place. Nyack is one of Hudson Valley’s Best Kept Secrets. Just 25 miles, or a mere 45 minute drive north, Nyack is said to be the “Art & Soul” on the Hudson. It is a creative hub for artists, providing unique opportunities to enjoy music, film, theatre crafts and art.
The Hudson valley also happens to be home to Art Cafe, a cozy coffee shop serving up organic coffee & fresh cuisine inspired by the cafes in Tel Aviv and Europe. Their menu is a mix of traditional Israeli recipes and a few creative flavors. This family owned spot not only has a passion for great taste, but also a focus on food being healthy. Food is good at Art Cafe. Always served up fresh and wholesome, with incredible coffee and latte art to put that smile on your face.
In addition to the indoor seating, there is a huge outdoor area also makes it perfect to bring your furry best friend along to enjoy too. Hence doggie treats and water bowls will already be waiting for them. The quaint little town is perfect for a stroll, with or without your dog, afterwards. Truly a perfect day trip out of the city, at a relaxed pace. Good for the soul, and bite worthy food for your tummy.

Latte Art
When they first opened, Art Cafe occupied only half the bottom floor of 65 South Broadway and had barely enough space to hang an exhibit. But visual art was not the creative discipline that inspired the cafe’s name. The canvasses that the owner Daniel Kramer sought to display were the surfaces of the hot beverages that he served. Baristas in Israel had been making elaborate designs on the tops of lattes for a decade. Art Cafe introduced Latte Art to Nyack.
*Art Cafe strongly believes that each cup of coffee should not only the freshest cup you can get but also the best. They take their time freshly grinding your recently roasted coffee. Then they brew it perfectly, each cup individually. There will be no coffee sitting out for any amount of time here. So you can expect a fresh and delicious experience at Art Cafe, each and every time.
Shakshooka
Two eggs baked in spicy tomato sauce, Bulgarian feta, mediterranean herbs, pita on side
*Shakshuka is a staple of Tunisian, Libyan, Algerian, and Moroccan cuisines traditionally served up in a cast iron pan with bread to mop up the sauce (most important). It is also popular in Israel, where it was introduced by Tunisian Jews.
Hummus Malawach
Filled with hummus, hard boiled egg and israeli pickles
*this sandwich is amazing and crave-worthy… would totally go back for this sandwich alone.
**Malawach, (Hebrew: מלאווח; literally means “board-like bread”), is a flatbread that resembles a thick pancake but consists of thin layers of puff pastry. It is brushed with oil or fat and then cooked flat in a frying pan. It is traditionally served with hard-boiled eggs, zhug and a crushed or grated tomato dip.

ART CAFE EXTERIOR + Outdoor Seating
Dan thinks that American cafes have become like self-service filling stations, where people are moved through quickly with take-out orders in hand. Therefore, Dan chose to model Art Cafe based on the European cafe custom where patrons are encouraged to sit unhurried, and savor aromas, flavors and ambiance for hours, not nano-seconds. The result is a vibrant venue brimming with excellent food, fine art and compelling conversation. Truly the perfect Art Cafe in Nyack.
