Light, airy, and very crispy. That’s the crust you’ll find at Rosamunda’s Pizzeria. Cut to order, sold by weight, and heated to just the right temperature and crispness, nothing we have state side even comes close to it. Maybe it’s from the choice of flour they use, only 100% Italian wheat. No preservatives, colorants or palm oil but only and exclusively olive oil, sunflower oil or butter depending on the specific products. Rosamunda’s pays particular attention to the leavening times, never less than 48-72 hours. This careful maturation of the dough is said to allow it to obtain a highly digestible, fragrant and light state. But whatever it is, the end product it truly a delicious slice of pizza, no matter what toppings you choose to have with it.
Located on the beautiful and quaint street, Via del Coronari, it’s a worthy destination to go try, and then take a stroll down both Via del Coronari and Via del Governo Vecchio. Plenty of good eats and small shops to visit along the way, as you nosh a little here, nosh a little there… it’s the best way to taste you way through Rome.
Rosamunda’s Pasticceria
Roman style pizza typically not sold by slice, but by weight, cut to order, then heated up until the crust is just the right amount of crisp. Absolute delicious, and a whole different level than any state side pizza.
So many choices… so little stomach space.
Beautiful and quaint, Via del Coronari and Via del Governo Vecchio
Most of the buildings on the street date back to the 15th and 16th centuries. The effect is very old-Rome and it is hard not to be charmed by the feel of the cobblestone street as it curves and reveals itself little by little.
