Surprisingly, we had the most whimsical dinner at the ONE Michelin star All’Oro Restaurant. This Michelin Star Italian restaurant is tucked away in a quaint boutique hotel, serving up playful Italian classics with a modern twist. All’Oro Restaurant is run by a husband and wife team, Chef Riccardo Di Giacinto and Ramona Anello. Ricardo is in the kitchen and Ramona is in the dining room. Di Giacinto serves up the most creative presentations with a clever play on words for many of the dishes.
Check out all the fun little dishes we had presented to us below. Although officially we only ordered an appetizer, entree, dessert, there were plenty of other little extras interjected along the way. All of them fun, amusing, and not always what they appeared to be.
Thus, if you ever find yourself in Rome, wanting a break from the typical pizza and pasta, and looking for a different kind of fine dining Michelin worthy experience (one that’s more playful than Alain Ducasse style) then unquestionably All’Oro Restaurant should be on your radar to check out. All’Oro is definitely worthy of a visit.

Pasta Al dente
Fun play on words- A bite of fried pasta All’oro served up in a porcelain tooth.
Chef Di Giacinto’s brilliance and humor shines through on many of the dishes. One of the waiters even told us they have a room full of fun little plates and serving pieces. They buy them sometimes before even knowing how it will be used. Just a perfect example of how the server ware is the conduit, and inspires the dish creation, instead of the other way around. In this case, this fried al dente pasta creation on the tooth was just al dente perfection!
Carbonara Reduction Without the pasta
This riff on the traditional Roman dish takes the ingredients that comprise the recipe’s essence, concentrating their flavours in a smooth and crunchy foam.
Amatriciana tartlet
“Amatriciana” finger food – (the biscuit is made from tomatoes topped with delicate parmesan cream and pork cheek)
Glossy Red miniature ‘apples’
Fake Apple filled with apple pork and mustard Glossy Red miniature ‘apples’, containing fluffy Roman roast piglet or porchetta and mustard, covered with an apple gel.
Play on “Caesar salad”

“Rocher” of Oxtail
*Vaccinara Style with Celery Gelée. Yet another signature dish of All’Oro Restaurant. It was a very delicious bite.
Cappelletti “Dry Broth”
Parmesan, Saffron and lemon. This classic All’Oro dish inverts the Italian traditional dish of tortellini in brodo – filled pasta in broth – by placing the consommé at the heart of these delicate pasta buttons, served with a delicate cheese and saffron sauce.

All’Oro Tiramisù
*really dainty, light, airy, and absolutely ethereal. After having so many of these while in Rome, this one was definitely a standout.

Mango blueberry gummy | Peanut butter hazelnut Fake peanut
Curry-sol
A fun play on Carousal with Curry-sol. A curry flavored filling in between 2 cookies. The wind up carousal actually works… the waiters wound it up and it played a cute little melody for us at the table, spinning around as we watched our little curry-sol flavored cookies go in circles. Super cute!
Pina colada
*One bite explosion in the mouth. Actually tasted like pina colada 🍹
Carbon’ Air
White Chocolate Egg, Liquid Heart of Passion Fruit and Citrus
*A very signature dish at All’Oro Restaurant. It involves the “EGG” being dropped from above, crashing down, cracking, and thus “Carbon Air”. Yet another cleaver play on words again for Carbonara, egg, and falling from the air. Tasty too. Just wish there was more quantity… like half a dozen eggs please. =)
